The CSIP-AUS Implementation Reference Group
The CSIP‑AUS Implementation Reference Group (CIRG) provides expert technical advice and consensus‑based recommendations on the interpretation and implementation of CSIP‑AUS, including SA TS5573:2025. It plays a central role in resolving issues, clarifying ambiguities, and supporting nationally consistent implementation of CSIP‑AUS across Australian jurisdictions. The CIRG reviews issues raised by the CSIP-AUS community, develops recommendations and advice, and supports the implementation of changes through appropriate channels. See chapter 8 of the CSIP-AUS testing & certification handbook for more details.
Membership of the CIRG is governed by its Terms of Reference to ensure it includes a representative cross-section of members from across the CSIP-AUS landscape, including:
Distribution networks
Energy retailers
CER and CSIP-AUS client OEMs
Server developers
Other key stakeholders
Please see the CIRG terms of reference here for full details its governance and operation.
To raise an issue for CIRG consideration, email the CIRG Chair at csipaus@csipaus.org. The Chair will review the request, determine whether CIRG input is required, and schedule the matter for discussion in accordance with the issue‑resolution process outlined in the CSIP-AUS testing & certification handbook.
Current public consultations
The CIRG may sometimes seek public feedback on issues from the wider CSIP-AUS community as part of the issues resolution process. Current consultations provided.
Low power testing
This issue considers whether testing should be able to be completed at lower power for larger inverters. This would enable easier access to testing for large (e.g. >100kW) inverters, however represents a non-standard test. This consultation seeks feedback from the CSIP-AUS community whether enabling lower power testing should be permissible, and if so. what the implications of this should be on the resultant test report or certification.

Survey
The CIRG is currently undertaking a survey on this issue, which can be accessed here.
